Animal Rights Center Japan (a certified NPO; hereinafter "we" or "the organization") handles personal information obtained through this Amplify Donation Dashboard in accordance with our privacy policy and the terms below.
1. Information we collect
When accepting a donation, we collect your name, address, email address, donation amount, donation date and time, and other information necessary to accept the donation and process payment.
Payments are handled by PayPal (PayPal Pte. Ltd.). Payment details such as credit card numbers are handled directly by PayPal and are not stored on our servers.
We also record how many times the link from a campaign page to the campaign website is clicked. We record only which campaign, which position on the page, and which advertisement the visit came from. We do not collect IP addresses, user agents, identifiers, or any other information that could identify an individual. These records cannot be linked to one another, nor to any donation record.
2. Purposes of use
We use the information collected for the following purposes.
- Accepting donations, processing payment, and confirming receipt
- Issuing and sending donation receipts
- Sending our newsletter, activity reports, and other announcements
- Responding to inquiries
- Creating and retaining records as required by law
Email newsletters are sent only to those who have opted in. You may unsubscribe at any time, using the method described in the email or by contacting us.
3. Subcontractors and providers located outside Japan
To accept donations and issue receipts, we entrust the handling of personal information to the providers listed below. Each handles the information only within the scope of our instructions, and we supervise them as required.

As a result of the above, personal information may be stored on servers located outside Japan or handled by providers outside Japan. If you contact us, we will explain the data protection frameworks of the countries concerned and the security measures taken by these providers.
The name and address used for donation receipts are not passed to payment providers. The feature that fills in an address from a postal code is processed on our own servers; the postal code you enter is not sent to any external provider.
Apart from the above, we do not provide the personal information we collect to third parties, except with your consent or as required by law.
4. Video thumbnails and playback
Each video page displays the thumbnail image of a video published on YouTube (Google LLC, United States). When the page loads, your browser fetches this image from Google's servers, so information such as your IP address, the video viewed, and the date and time is sent to Google without passing through us. This transmission is not a provision of personal information by us, but it occurs simply by viewing the page, even if you do not donate.
Clicking the thumbnail loads a video player within the page so you can watch it there. The player is not loaded until you click, so if you do not play the video, no transmission caused by loading the player occurs. The player is served from youtube-nocookie.com, so Google does not set tracking cookies until playback begins. Once you play the video, Google's privacy policy and its handling of cookies apply.
You can also use the "Watch on YouTube" link below the video to watch it on YouTube. Google's terms likewise apply once you go there. You can also restrict cookies and third-party connections through your browser settings or extensions.
5. Advertising measurement
We spend donations on advertising and publish how many people those ads reached. To measure advertising performance, we may place a measurement tag (the X Pixel) provided by X Corp. (United States) on video pages. Where it is placed, loading the page causes your browser to connect directly to X Corp., sending information such as your IP address, browser information, the URL of the page viewed, and identifiers attached to ad clicks, and X Corp. may set cookies.
What we learn from this mechanism is only the aggregate figure for how much was donated via advertising; it does not identify who donated. We do not send names, addresses, email addresses, or donation amounts to X Corp.

6. What the public dashboard shows
The public dashboard displays only aggregate statistics such as total donation amounts and the number of donations. It does not display personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses, or addresses.

We take reasonable and appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, loss of, leakage of, or alteration of the personal information we collect.
